Summer Brights

1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6

What does summer mean to you? I love to ask myself questions like this as it helps me remember the exciting things that lay ahead in the coming months. Here is my list of what summer means to me:

1. Banish black until Winter and break out those Summer brights!
2. Bike rides on the boardwalk at the beach
3. Cocktails on rooftop bars where the sunshine can be enjoyed properly
4. Weekend getaways
5. Watermelon sangria
6. Backyard BBQs and picnics the beach
7. Light dinners that don't slow you down a'la simple salads and charcuturie boards
8. Sleeping with the windows wide open
9. Picking out a new bikini
10. Moving into our new house in the middle of June- wish us luck!
11. Catching up books while laying in the grass at the dog park
12. The return of Dexter
13. Sneaking into hotel pools in downtown San Diego

So, I'd love to hear what Summer means to all of YOU too!

  2. There will be more Dexter???!!! That's exciting... I didn't realise... I do assume you are talking about the series, not the return of a friend. :)
As for summer... The long days, sunshine, warmth, strawberries, seaside in weekends, tea and dinner in a garden, puppy paws that don't need a wash after a long walk, silk dresses and sandals...
Oh, all I need now is for the summer to come! :)

  3. Summer means to me: extreme heat, humidity, mosquitos...ok, KIDDING..not really. lol. Summer means ripe fruit in abundance (yummy peaches, strawberries, plums, nectarines) and long evenings. Neon nails, and cute sandals!

Love all the brights you picked out!

  10. Summer doesn't get terribly hot here in SF, as I'm sure you've heard, but I still like to get in the spirit too! Watermelon sangria to pretend it's warm sound like a plan to me, oh and there's napa- there's always napa!

  12. I love all things bright for summer! The skirt and necklace are my favorites. I am looking forward to spending time with my husband this summer! He just finished his first year of law school, so needless to say he hasn't been around much the past year. We are planning to relax and spend lots of time with our pups!

  16. These all sound like things I do\would like to do! I forgot that you were a San Diegan, which drew me to check out your blog the very first time I did. Congrats on the new house. Prices are going back up-yay!- so now's the time to try and get in. I know lots of friends that are having a hard time bidding on a house- they keep getting outbid. I'm looking forward to this spring\summer here in San Diego. I also think I can find a good place for that pink cart serving table\cart! -Jessica L
