Good Morning you hottie patottie's, you! Wednesdays are typically pretty bleh, so I'm hoping I can pep up your day with the third installment of my "Blog Tip of the Day" series. Today, we are talking about business cards.
Business cards are an essential part of any business, and in my opinion, an essential part of the business of being a blogger. First, let's talk about the design of your business card. Do you want it one sided or two sided? Matte or shiny? Color or black and white? Include your Vine App link or don't include your Vine App link! Ahh! Here are my Top 7 Tips for Creating a Fab Business Card.
1. Design
There are literally hundreds of resources for business card design programs so don't skimp on design! You can create the design yourself using business card design programs like Avery or InDesign or you can hire someone to do it for you via Etsy or through a local marketing vendor. Do some research and find some business cards that you think are the shiznit! Pinterest can help! I've listed a ton of my fave business cards on my board, BLOG LIFE. Check it out HERE
I created my business card myself using InDesign and a business card template I downloaded from GotPrint, the same vendor I used to print the cards (500 for less than $25).
2. Include the Right Stuff
Be sure to include all of your contact information including name, website, phone number and email address. Do you want to include your title? I didn't and now regret it (hint, hint). I would say it is up to you whether to include a business mailing address (if applicable) or social media links (if applicable).
3. Make it Nice
Print the business card on nice paper. Use heavy cardstock and don't forget to think of the final details like matte, shiny, etc. Mine are matte on the front and shiny on the back for added flare! Remember, this is your calling card. Make it count! Maker it memorable!
4. Skip the Clutter
Don't clutter your business card with too much information. You don't want to overload the viewer with useless data. Ask yourself what REALLY needs to be on the business card. Keep it clean, simple and light whenever possible.
5. Text
Make sure the text is large enough to read! I blew it on this one!
6. Stand Out
There are so many ways to make your card stand out! You can do this through size, shape, pop-up, using a rubber stamp instead of printing, die cutting. Get creative! As I mentioned before, Pinterest can help! Check out my fave business cards HERE.
7. Proofread
Proofread and then proofread again! Rinse and repeat. You don't want to present your business card only to realize that you spelled your name wrong.
Second, let's talk about how to effectively get your business cards into the hands of the people that matter. Whether you are a blogger or a business, getting your business card into the hands of the right people is critical to growing your business. Luckily for us, the answer to this proposition is easy: Mingle, comingle and mingle some more and while you're meeting and greeting, pass out that beautiful business card of yours! Sometimes, the hardest part is just introducing yourself and giving someone your card.

I was just telling my boyfriend how badly I need to get on making business cards. I've been using postcard sized ones, which at the time was a great idea, but are now just dumb to me. I like yours! I love that they are double sided to give your logo the impact and then your info is clean on the back. Great job!
