Kitschy Kitsch

I am an accessories kind of girl. Problem is, I always forget to wear accessories. It's ridiculous,
really. I spend a lot of time obsessing over having the coolest and latest bangles to add to my
arm party and rings to stack up on my digits, but the baubles stay stuck in my jewelry box.
I just plain old forget to put them on in the mornings.

Well, I think I have found the solution! It's called Kitsch!

Kitsch is an online retailer that has the most glitter-ific, sparkly-tastic hair ties, headbands, rings, necklaces, earrings and other accessories. See, here's the deal. The hair ties in particular lend to my forgetfulness for adding accessories because they double as fabulous glittery bracelets!

I always wear a hair tie on my wrist so trading it out for Kitsch hair ties has made all the difference. Thanks Kitsch! I heart YOU!

You can shop their online store HERE
Oh and check out my KITSCH ARM PARTY shots below! Yeah, I PARTY!

You can also find their products in large retailers like Nordstroms, Anthropologie, Kitson, Free People and Urban Outfitters but I prefer to buy my Kitsch from their online store. This way, no one judges me when I buy more hair ties than anyone should ever own. Like, ever. Tee hee hee.

P.S. What's up with my veiny grandma hands? Come on, higher powers! I'm not even 30 yet!

Accessories gifted by Kitsch. All opinions are my own.

DIY // Glitter Magnets

Glitter magnets are about the cutest and easiest little DIY around.

Inspiration boards are a great way to organize and creatively display your thoughts and inspirations. My inspiration boards are almost always in digital form but it's nice to have an excuse (ahem, glitter magnets) to break out of the ordinary and do a real life inspiration board. Let's get started.

Materials
circular magnets
glitter
craft glue
gold paint or spray paint
gloss clear coat enamel or spray

Directions
-First, pour yourself a glass of wine. This evening, I cha-cha-choose Decoy Zinfandel
-Spray or paint magnets to a golden hue, taking care to get the sides of the magnets
-Spread a thin layer of glue to the entire top surface of the magnet
-Sprinkle glitter on magnets

-Shake off excess glitter, let dry
-Spray with clear coat enamel to seal and prevent glitter from coming off

Blog Tip of the Day // Fonts

I am excited for today. For several reasons. First, it's my birthday today! I am turning the big 2-7 = I moved into the "mid-to-late twenties" bracket! Craziness! Second, it is the last day of political campaigning commercials! That right there is reason to celebrate! And third, I am launching a fun new series today called "Blog Tip of the Day" where I will be sharing some fun blog tips and finds with you!

Some of these tips are self taught, bits of information I've learned along the way from books and magazines and advice from fellow bloggers such as your lovely selves.

I hope to teach you a thing or two that you can incorporate into your own blog and maybe I can learn some things from you too! After all, what are the internets for if not to share information!

So here we are with my very first "Blog Tip of the Day" Series: Fonts

I am big on fonts. Love them. Crazy for them. Here are some of the fonts that I favor...
You can download each by clicking on these links: 1 / 23 / 4

I think it is so important to stay consistent with your use of fonts. Choose a few and stick to them. Similar to your blog logo and colors, you want to stay consistent in your presentation.

Stay tuned for my next "Blog Tip of the Day" post for more blogging tips! Oh, and I'm so excited to share my next DIY with you. Hint: it involves glitter.

Glitter Key DIY

This is one of the EASIEST and cutest DIY's you will ever try. Best part is, you probably have all the supplies you need laying around your house!
On a side note, I just realized that all of my DIYs have involved glitter. Glitter addiction!

Materials
Glitter
Key
Elmers Glue
Clear Top Coat Nail Polish
And, as I always recommend, a strong pour of your favorite glass of wine. Tonight, I drink Malbec. Yum.

Directions
Apply a thin layer of elmers glue to the key in whatever design you like
Glitter up the glue!
Let dry for 2-3 hours
Seal the glitter with some clear top coat nail polish
Voila! You are instantly glammed and glittered up!

Glitter "Get Shit Done" DIY

I'm not so much a Do-it-Yourself-er... I'm more of a Mess-it-Upper. It takes me waaaaay too long to put together a piece of Ikea furniture and my arts and crafts time always seems to turn into me thinking "I'm covered in paint and glue with nothing to show for it. How did this get so out of hand?"

But, this recent DIY project that I modeled after the lovely Tiffany Leigh's "Brilliant Glitter Art" of Tiffany Leigh Interior Design was almost too easy and the results are pretty cool.

All things considered with this DIY project, I "got shit done."

Materials
Frames
Card Stock
Glue
Glitter
Newspaper
A Strong Pour of Your Favorite Glass of Wine (Mascato for me, please)

Write your word or phrase on the cardstock with glue.

It took me several tries to get it right. Patience is a virtue here.

 Cover the glue with glitter.

Let dry for at least one hour. Place cardstock inside frame and BOOM: you just created a sweet DIY framed pick-me-up!

I made some for my friends at work who also like using curse words as motivation. When I gave the frame to my friend, Katie, she asked if I had used a glitter pen to write out the words... hahah genius way to make this easy DIY project a little less painful.

Also, beware: glitter gets everywhere so make sure to lay out some newspaper before you get started. I didn't as my boyfriend will fondly recall. After my DIY project, he went to a work event and his boss leaned over to him at one point and asked him if he had glitter on his face and if he had gone to a strip club that day... heheheheheheehe
