Lindsay Dress here from Sadie + Stella. My lovely little lots consists of a lot of lovely lots in one large lot. What a mouthful. My dining room is the loveliest of lots and is full of most of my favorite things. Which include: Greek key, major wallpaper, full service bar (my most favorite), fabulous and ambient lighting and last but not least, my favorite color red. Ok, well colors. Red and jade green. I am so indecisive.
I worked the space around my Jackie O pop art piece that is comprised of red, green, turquoise and black. I just new this was the piece for us and I was determined to make it work. I was set on using wallpaper in the space and arrived upon a black and beige trellis number. It was the perfect backdrop for the space. After that, things happened and key pieces started falling into place.
Since I couldn't find the much needed jade lamps for the buffet, I bought the perfect shaped lamps and spray painted them the necessary hue. "No", "can't", "won't" and "not possible" are not words that reside in my vocabulary. Next on lighting, we found the perfect chandelier for the space. Gold (of course) with the perfect amount of modern touch. The caveat? It had glass textured shades. I decided I would live with it temporarily due to a cost issue, but my man made it easy on us and accidentally broke two of them. This brunette couldn't have been happier and the wheels never turned faster. I knew
I wanted black fabric drum shades, but finding those at a decent price and in the correct diameter proved to be difficult. I found myself in a disorganized aisle of Garden Ridge picking through unfortunate looking lampshades. Well folks, I found 6, 6' diameter white and black polka dot shades. What in the hell did I do with these? I spray painted them. Swear. And at $3.99 a pop, it was worth the initial vandalism.
