Artist Spotlight // Michael Murphy

I was introduced to Michael Murphy's work yesterday and I instantly fell in love with his innovative and creative approach to art. His pieces are at times controversial. Take his latest work "Damage," which is a sculpture composed of 1,200 suspended black ping pong balls. When viewed from the perfect angle, the seemingly pointless arrangement of black spheres form the shape of an assault rifle. The project is meant to open up discussion on the controversial role of guns in today's society.

You can watch the time lapse of the art installation, which is being featured at the AVA in Chattanooga, TN, below.

You can catch more of his work on his website HERE.
