We're Engaged!!!

Exciting news! Clint and I got engaged over the weekend!!!

We are both SO over the moon and he took me totally by surprise! I knew we were going to get engaged sometime in the next year or two but considering we just bought our first house, I thought it would not be anytime soon. Well, Clint is one sneaky guy and asked me to marry him on Friday, June 28th.

So, here's how it went down. Clint and I have been joking all week that this weekend would be our "weekend of romance" because we just have not had a single weekend to ourselves in a really long time. We've either been moving or entertaining friends or packing... so we decided that this weekend would be all about us.

So, on Friday I came home to Clint holding flowers and champagne at the doorstep. We said cheers "to our home" and Clint suggested we go watch the sunset at Sunset Cliffs a few blocks from our house before our dinner reservations. At this point, I didn't suspect anything.

So we drove down to Sunset Cliffs and Clint was very particular on getting a private little area for us. This is the moment when I started to slightly suspect something.

We picked out a secluded little spot on the cliff side and started talking about our future together and how beautiful our new home and community was. I did notice that Clint was a little quieter than usual and he kept commenting on "how beautiful the sunset was..." which made me think he was a little nervous... I was holding onto his arm and noticed that I could feel his heart beating through his sweater which made me suspect even more!

Right as the sun was sinking into the sea, Clint turned to me and said some of the sweetest words and asked me to marry him. I immediately said "of course" and "yes" several times over. It was one of the most beautiful and exhilarating moments of my life. We cried a little and laughed a lot and were both shaking from all the excitement!

This man is absolutely made for me and I cannot imagine my life without him. He makes me happy every single day. We're looking forward to a long engagement and I'm going to have to get used to calling Clint my fiance (so WEIRD)! Oh, and the ring... he nailed it! It's beyond words!

Here are some photos of the moment!

Signing off this time as the Future Mrs. Losey!

San Diego Date Spots

San Diego is a wonderful place to be when you are young and in love... and like to eat! There are too many date spots to count but I thought that I would share a few of my personal favorites with you. Have you been to any of these restaurants before?

There is not a better place to kick back and enjoy a little wine along with your meat and cheese board around an olive tree than this spot. Down the street from my old digs, this place has an endless supply of yum. Be sure to try to Roasted Cherry Tomato + Burrata + Basil Pesto and the Cacio e Pepe. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

You've all heard of Hash House a Go Go, right? Well, this is the sister restaurant located right across the street. Serving up the same famous portions of insanely delicious brunch fare, I think the Tractor Room is better than it's famous sister restaurant. Try the Free Range Wild Boar Hash or the House Smoked Salmon and Rock Shrimp Cake Benedict and whatever you do, order a side of the gravy. You will want to swim in it.

My man and I can't get enough if this place. So cozy and romantic you will want to curl up in front of the fireplace after your meal for a nap. French cuisine and delicious drinks can be found here. The Crispy Brussel Sprouts, Goat Cheese and Beet Flatbread and Steak Frites are our favorites.

Situated in adorable Golden Hill in San Diego, the Turf Supper Club is among the first to employ the "cook-your-own" concept. Started in 1956, I don't think much has changed since it first opened its doors. Kitschy cowboy decor and red leather boots small enough that you have to get friendly with your neighbors. Did I mention the bucket martinis with blue cheese stuffed olives? Woof!

This gorgeous restaurant is set in a lush courtyard overlooking the gardens of Balboa Park. The Calamari Appetizer is to die along with their wine selection. Come here for lunch after exploring the museums or before catching a play at The Globe Theater.
