San Diego is a wonderful place to be when you are young and in love... and like to eat! There are too many date spots to count but I thought that I would share a few of my personal favorites with you. Have you been to any of these restaurants before?
There is not a better place to kick back and enjoy a little wine along with your meat and cheese board around an olive tree than this spot. Down the street from my old digs, this place has an endless supply of yum. Be sure to try to Roasted Cherry Tomato + Burrata + Basil Pesto and the Cacio e Pepe. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.
You've all heard of Hash House a Go Go, right? Well, this is the sister restaurant located right across the street. Serving up the same famous portions of insanely delicious brunch fare, I think the Tractor Room is better than it's famous sister restaurant. Try the Free Range Wild Boar Hash or the House Smoked Salmon and Rock Shrimp Cake Benedict and whatever you do, order a side of the gravy. You will want to swim in it.
My man and I can't get enough if this place. So cozy and romantic you will want to curl up in front of the fireplace after your meal for a nap. French cuisine and delicious drinks can be found here. The Crispy Brussel Sprouts, Goat Cheese and Beet Flatbread and Steak Frites are our favorites.
Situated in adorable Golden Hill in San Diego, the Turf Supper Club is among the first to employ the "cook-your-own" concept. Started in 1956, I don't think much has changed since it first opened its doors. Kitschy cowboy decor and red leather boots small enough that you have to get friendly with your neighbors. Did I mention the bucket martinis with blue cheese stuffed olives? Woof!
This gorgeous restaurant is set in a lush courtyard overlooking the gardens of Balboa Park. The Calamari Appetizer is to die along with their wine selection. Come here for lunch after exploring the museums or before catching a play at The Globe Theater.
