Philippe Starck Bronze Stool

This week's genna be a heater... I can already feel it and the sun hasn't even come up yet! My new assistant starts today at work {thank God}, so she and I will be busy with training and my showing her the ropes of the office ! I haven't had an assistant in over 2 weeks so it will be great to have some help again! I know she is going to be a superstar because she's smart and sweet!

So, this past weekend, I went to Orange County to celebrate my mama's birthday! It was SO nice to be at home and catch up with the family! As some of you know, Costa Mesa is home to one of the best Home Goods stores on the face of the planet. I picked up some fabulous art and an exact replica of THIS Philippe Starck Bronze Stool. The $50 Home Goods price tag sure beats the $995 cost of the real thing! Serious score! I'm hoping to put it in my home office when we move into the new place. I'm going to aim for a very Jonathan Adler-esque space.

What do you guys think of this piece? Gaudy? Awesome? I'm getting some love/hate opinions. My mom and a fellow shopper thought the piece was awesome! My sister, on the other hand, stared at me like I was a crazy person when I chucked the giant golden head in my shopping cart... and I was SO tempted to take a video of my boyfriend's reaction of the stool when I brought it home... haha. He hates gold and I can't get enough!

Ok, but seriously, what do YOU think?

Also, check out THIS awesome DIY by Anne over at Flax & Twine that I did over the weekend: A DIY Photo Light Box that delivers beautiful endless finishes for your photos. If you've got a cardboard box, some tape and white tissue paper laying around, you have all the materials you need! Bloggers, this one's for you!

  1. I'm a fan! It will definitely bring loads of personality :)

  2. Wow this is a tough one. I love eclectic spaces so i know it could definitely been worked in the right way and look awesome and cool but it could also go terrible wrong if the room does not allow for it..its pretty shiny..but with knowing the style you are going for I am sure it will look awesome!Regardless..definitely an awesome find at Home Goods..I love mine too!

  3. I like it! It's so quirky and I love some good quirk. Plus for $50, can you really go wrong? Please show us it in your space!!

  4. Love this stool and what a great price!!!!!!!!
A good choice even if your boyfriend doesn't really like gold ;)

  5. I love it! Great find. Home Goods is always hit or miss for me but lately more miss than anything (except for dog beds).

I have pinned that DIY light box before but have yet to make it. The one I use is pathetic so I definitely need to do this!

  8. I looooooove! It's freaky and cool and a conversation piece. Plus it's SOOO Jonathan Adler so it will go perfect in the new space. I lol'd a little at the bf having a bad reaction... mine always gives me raised eyebrows and he also said he will never be at a loss of what to get me for a present because if it's gold, I'll love it.

  9. I think it's fun and funky. I don't know if it would work in my space but go for it girl! (your boy will just have to get over it haha)

  10. I love Home Goods!
    What a great buy...enjoy it :)
    It's a fabulous piece!

  11. Sounds like a super great weekend! I love the space in the first image. The bold colors in the art mixed with the eclectic gold is very out there, but I love it!

  12. I dig it! After years of loathing it, I'm totally obsessed with gold at the moment. Great find at a great price!

  13. I absolutely LOVE it Holly, it's fabulous - life is too short to buy boring stools! :-)
